Road Trip!

On Wednesday afternoon, we left home and headed south towards our favorite place - Florida! After a short overnight stop at Grandma's house in South Carolina, we were on our way to Orlando on the 4th of July.

I tried to make the morning at least a little bit festive, with a red, white & blue picnic at the Florida Welcome Center.

 

The kids shared their lunch with Candlehead and Mario, who also kept them entertained for the day's 6 hour drive.



Our plan for the long weekend was to avoid the capacity crowds at the Disney Parks and instead do all the free stuff we could find at the Disney World Resorts and Downtown Disney. Add in a beach day, and it's a pretty nice and relaxing vacation.

After a bit of rest area exercising, we finished our drive to Orlando. We started our resort hop right away. First up: Animal Kingdom Lodge!
